The owner of Kings XI Punjab is a group which includes Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, Ness Wadia (Bombay Dyeing), Karan Paul (Apeejay Surendera Group) and Mohit Burman (Dabur).The group acquired the franchise rights for $76 millions.
The team colors are light grey and red, while the logo is a light grey colored shield with two lion heads made in red and the team's name written in bold red font. While famous Indian pop star Daler Mehndi is the brand ambassador, Anil Srivatsa is the team's CEO.
Kings XI Punjab In 2010 IPL Season
Kings XI Punjab’s performance in 2010 IPL Season was disastrous. They lost six of their league matches to Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Deccan Chargers, Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians. Their first victory came against Chennai Super Kings when the scores were level and the match went to a Super Over. The return of Shaun Marsh and Brett Lee helped the performance of the team but couldn’t help it to reach semi-finals. Kings XI Punjab ended in last position on the table.
Kings XI Punjab is back for IPL 2011 with newly appointed captain Adam Gilchrist. The team will play 14 league matches in this season of IPL starting with their first match against the new IPL team Pune Warriors (PW) in DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai on 10th April.
